President's Report

The Lake Association Board is concerned about several issues around the lake that are going to affect the quality of life around here. First and foremost the Crow Wing County Board’s LID Policy.  There are many issues as we see it. They request 60% to approve the petition!  The State Statute says 51%.  They request a new petition every five years!  The State Statute states that an LID can be renewed by vote of people at an annual meeting. The new policy is to get written permission every year to spray!  As far as we are concerned they are making the process so constraining as to eliminate LID's in Crow Wing County. If we lose the LID we will not be able to treat curly leaf pondweed as it is too expensive to do.

The DNR wants to introduce muskies into the lake!  Increased boat traffic - increased chance of the introduction of Aquatic Invasive Species such as Zebra Mussels. Spiny Waterflea and Eurasian Water Milfoil
